1. First, you could notice on keys pattern on the piano or keyboard
In this step, you could find the note "C" on your keyboard. The scale of the keys are C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and C again.
The three white keys enclosing two black keys while four white keys enclosing three black keys.
Just note that the black keys repeat a five key pattern of two black keys. They will be separated by one white key. There are two white keys after that. There are also three black keys which are separated by one white key then two white keys.
That pattern is the same from one keyboard to another. Each note in the keyboard is represented in 12 note octave according to the higher or lower pitch.
2. Second, you could identify the black keys

The blck key has two possible names: sharp and flat. The name depends on the chord you are playing with. For example:
1st black key in the group is C♯ or D ♭
2nd black key in the group is D♯ or E ♭
3rd black key in the group is F♯ or G ♭
To find the note of the black key, you could notice on the white key immediately and use the sharp sign.
3. Third, you could find the octave the note is in
Just finding the Middle C. After that you could go down or up to reach the octave that your key is in.

4. Fourth, you could learn what the notes look like
This is the final step for you to understand the piano or keyboard notes well. By using this way you could understand the relationship of the notes.
